I am a semi-retired person who is an Artist. I have had numerous job positions involving having an Art background. I have a B.A. in Art and Education from Johnson State College, VT. I have 30 graduate hours from SUNY Cortland in Art and Education. I have my New York State Permanent Certification as an Art Teacher K-12. I studied classical art from Tom Vincent until his passing a few years ago. He was an amazing teacher and there is a warm spot in my heart for him. He was an extremely accomplished artist and I believe he has a painting in the Metropolitan Museum in New York City. I taught 4th and 5th grades in Art for two years, then started a family and stayed home for a few years. No time for painting then. I worked for Coleco Industries home of the Cabbage Patch Doll for seven years, when they went out of business and sold the doll line to Matel, or was it Hasbro, I worked in the Graphics Department of Longview Fibre Co. which made corrugated cartons and displays. I had to feed my family and Art Teachers, in the schools were being cut, not hired. I worked for the State of New York in I Love NY tourism, and Agriculture and Markets until retiring in 2011. I still work part-time in data entry of all things. I intend to create plenty of paintings since one painting a year isn't going to feed me and I don't want my family to do that. I finally have the time to enjoy what I love to do, to create a painting.

I could list my accomplishments 1st, 2nd, and 3rd., place ribbons but that is boring. I have placed paintings in numerous Art Shows in Northern New York State, from Schenectady, Amsterdam, Hagaman, Clayton, Saratoga, , Sackets Harbor, and Old Forge being some of the places I have participated in their Art Shows.

My main style is Impressionism, in plein air, and some studio. I have also worked in a Realistic style, from the Renaissance to present day realism. I use mostly acrylic and oils however, I do use watercolors, and watercolor pencils on occasion. Once in a great while I use egg tempera but it is very time sensitive and for some reason I work slowly and sometimes have three paintings going at one time and one will sit for quite a while before I work on it again. Rotten eggs, smell!!!! smile, chuckle.
